Oversize Transport Permits

Standard dimensions (no permit required)

  • Dimensions and weight: 20m x 2.65m x 4.0m – 38t 

Single-use permits

  • Validity: up to a maximum of 10 days (the issuing authority sets the final period).
  • Purpose: a single journey or the specified route.
  • Scope: authorizes travel from point A to point B, including the customs office address, for a specific vehicle combination and specified vehicle dimensions.

3–5 working days.

Not extendable — after expiry, a new permit must be applied for.

  • Registration certificates for the tractor unit and the semitrailer.
  • Green Cards:
    • for the tractor unit and semitrailer,
    • or for the truck and trailer.
  • Bilateral permit.

Availability: Operation is permitted 24/7 unless different hours are specified in the permit (authority’s decision).

Weather restrictions: Movement is prohibited in fog, snowfall, black ice, and in summer when the temperature exceeds 28°C.

Cancellation costs depend on the stage of order processing and the timing of the cancellation in relation to the planned start of the escort operation.

The same principle applies to permit cancellations — the later the cancellation is made, the higher the potential costs, resulting from preparatory work already completed, submitted applications, and allocated resources.

Escort of Oversize Transport Operations

Pilot escort is required when a vehicle exceeds any of the following parameters:

  • length: 24 m
  • width: 3.5 m
  • height: 4.5 m

Number of escorts depending on vehicle width:

  • from 3.5 m to 3.75 m – 1 pilot vehicle
  • from 3.75 m to 3.99 m – 1 police vehicle
  • from 4.0 m and above – 2 police vehicles

Police or substitute services escort

Requirements depending on vehicle width:

  • 3.75 m – 3.99 m: 1 police vehicle
  • ≥ 4.0 m: 2 police vehicles

Notice period:

  • 5–10 business days from the moment the permit is obtained

Cancellation costs

Any potential costs depend on:
