Oversize Transport Permits

Standard dimensions (movement allowed without a permit)

  • Tractor unit + semi‑trailer: 16.50 m × 2.55 m × 4.00 m – 40 t
  • Truck + trailer: 18.75 m × 2.55 m × 4.00 m – 40 t

Exceeding any of the above parameters (dimensions, gross mass, or axle loads) already requires obtaining a permit for oversize transport.

Additional information

A permit can be purchased at the border crossing if the transport parameters do not exceed:

  • length: 25 m
  • width: 4.5 m
  • height: 4.5 m
  • gross weight: 80 t

Single-use permit:

  • Scope: one route or a round trip
  • Validity: the permit’s validity depends on the route length and can be up to 10 days.
  • Vehicles: 1 tractor unit + 1 semi-trailer
  • The permit may also include a backup tractor unit or semi-trailer, provided they have the same configuration (number of axles, similar axle loads and gross mass, etc.).
  • When submitting the permit application, a copy of their documents must also be provided.

For transports that do not exceed 50 t, 3.20 m in width, 25 m in length and 4.00 m in height, the permit can be issued very quickly — within up to 2 working days.

For larger dimensions or weights, depending on the complexity of the transport, the issuance time is usually 3–4 working days.

In exceptional cases, it is possible to extend the permit, but only while it is still valid.

  • Once the permit has expired, an extension is not possible.

The extension procedure is not simple, but it does exist.

  • Documents of the truck and the trailer/semi‑trailer
  • CMR or detailed cargo information
  • Data on axle loads and the vehicle’s gross mass
  • Distances between axles
  • Overall dimensions of the vehicle/combination

  • Vehicles exceeding permissible masses or dimensions may travel daily, 24 hours a day.
  • On weekends and public holidays, movement is allowed only at night: from 22:00 to 06:00.

Additional requirements for oversize transports

Transports exceeding 80 t require preparation of a transport plan. This means additional costs and a longer execution time. On selected routes, this requirement may already apply to loads over 60 t.

Cancellation costs depend on the stage of order processing and the timing of the cancellation in relation to the planned start of the escort operation.

The same principle applies to permit cancellations — the later the cancellation is made, the higher the potential costs, resulting from preparatory work already completed, submitted applications, and allocated resources.

Organization of Oversize Transport Operations

Oversize transport is a complex logistics operation that requires precision, experience, and excellent coordination.

???? Professional Route Planning
We analyse every kilometre of the route: bridge load capacity, turning radii, roundabouts, overpasses, detours, as well as both temporary and permanent roadworks. Planning begins well before the vehicle’s first movement.

???? Transport Escort
Specialised escort vehicles, equipped in accordance with applicable regulations, ensure a smooth and safe passage, responding dynamically to real-time road conditions.

???? Documentation and Formalities
Permits, approvals, and agreements with road authorities and other institutions — we take care of every document required for a safe and legal transport operation.

????️ Detailed Logistics Planning
We select optimal transit times, plan alternative routes, monitor weather conditions, and consider all external factors that may impact execution.

Result?

???? Oversize transport is carried out safely, legally, and on time, with full control at every stage — from initial planning to final unloading.

Escort of Oversize Transport Operations

Parameters determining the need for escorts and their number

Width:

  • 3.20–4.50 m → 1 escort vehicle
  • over 4.50 m → 2 escort vehicles
  • over 30 m → 2 escort vehicles

Length:

  • over 3.5 m
  • over 25 m → 1 escort vehicle
  • over 30 m → 2 escort vehicles

Height:

  • over 4.50 m → 1 escort vehicle
  • on motorways → 2 escort vehicles

Gross weight:

  • over 80 t → 1 escort vehicle + additional police escort

Police escort and substitute services:

A police escort is required when exceeding parameters such as:

  • width over 5.00 m
  • gross weight over 80 t (on some routes from 60 t)
